Tracking Down Natural Products

Natural products accompany us through our daily life, whether in our morning coffee, a savoury tofu steak or on a green meadow. However it is not always easy to identify, isolate and characterize those molecules. While some of them occur in brilliant colours, we need some advanced chemical tools to visualize others. We invite you to join us in isolating the green leaf pigment and use it to illuminate the night. And what would a “Long Night of Science” be without caffeine? With the help of state of the art analytical methods we will try to figure out how much caffeine your favourite stimulants actually contain.
