Production engineering is a branch of mechanical engineering. It revolves around the interaction of man, machine and tool to create workpieces with geometrically definable shapes.
The designer's wishes thus result in individual parts that fulfill functions when arranged in assemblies. In the laboratories of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, both classic processes such as turning, milling and grinding and modern processes such as spark erosion as well as state-of-the-art production measurement technology and machining simulations are demonstrated.
