Epigenetic tests enable accurate cancer diagnoses
Human papillomaviruses (HPV) can cause cervical cancer or head and neck tumors. However, determining whether people infected with HPV will actually develop cancer requires precise diagnostics. epitype GmbH, an InfectoGnostics campus partner, has developed a molecular test for this purpose that enables the reliable early detection of cervical cancer.
During the Long Night of Science, visitors will learn how epitype researchers detect epigenetic changes that occur specifically in cancer.
In addition, at oncgnostics, children of all ages can win plush microbes with a steady hand and make their own DNA keychain.
