RNA is a cornerstone of molecular biology. Join the “RNA Biology of Fungal Infections” early-career research group on a journey of discovery into the world of RNA and infection biology—with fun activities for all ages.

RNA is one of the fundamental molecules of life. Although it is best known for transmitting information from DNA to proteins, RNA can do much more: Different types of RNA vary in their properties and perform different functions. They fold into complex 3D structures, carry chemical tags, and can interact with other RNA molecules. These properties make RNA extremely versatile and enable cells to respond to stress and changes in their environment. During an infection, RNA changes in both fungal and human host cells as they interact with one another. Therefore, researching RNA can help us understand the dynamics of fungal infections and potentially uncover targets for new drugs.
