Our presentation will take you on a brief journey into the world of glass and show you how SCHOTT overcomes the everyday challenges of glass development.

Glass is a brilliant material—we’ve known that ever since we started using it. The possibilities for combining nearly all chemical elements in this material, with its strangely disordered structure, are diverse and virtually limitless. Materials with surprising properties are possible because, despite this disorder, the structure is not entirely random. A brief excursion into the world of glass will demonstrate how the challenges in glass development, manufacturing, and application can be overcome using modern chemistry and physics, as well as the age-old expertise of glassmakers.

Speaker: Dr. Thilo Zachau, Head of Analytics
