Review 2022

Opening event at the Beutenberg Campus

25.11.2022 | 17:00 | Beutenberg Campus, Abbe Center Beutenberg (Casino) | "Fascinating science"

In 2022, some institutes on the Beutenberg Campus celebrated the 25th or 30th anniversary of their existence - a good reason to focus on the research landscape on the Beutenberg Campus! With around 3,500 employees from more than 80 nations, nine institutes, two start-up centers and a biotechnology company conduct research and drive the development of new products under the motto "Life Science meets Physics". On the occasion of the Long Night of Science Jena, all guests had the opportunity to enter into an exciting dialog with the scientists.

The musical program of the opening ceremony of the Long Night of Sciences Jena 2022 was provided by the Jena band Jezmer. The Lord Mayor of the City of Jena, Dr. Thomas Nitzsche, welcomed the guests. The opening speech by the Chairman of the Board of Beutenberg-Campus Jena e. V., Prof. Dr. Peter Zipfel, with reference to the history and significant anniversaries, provided the framework for this kick-off event. An experimental show got the guests in the mood for the fascinating and varied evening program throughout the city.

(The space available for the opening event (see above) was unfortunately limited. Admission could not be guaranteed. But:)

A special highlight on the occasion of the opening was the façade illumination by media artist and lighting designer Conzum at the Abbe Center. The projection began at around 18:15, lasted about 15 minutes and was repeated continuously.
