Adventure in Space

They soar far above our heads in the depths of space: telescopes and high-performance optics developed by researchers in Jena. From there, they observe our planet to, for example, reveal the effects of climate change or the health of plants. Or they peer back as far as 13 billion years into the past and provide answers to big questions such as: “Where do we come from?” In this exhibition, you’ll learn, among other things, about the contributions researchers from Jena have made to ESA’s CO2M mission—a space mission to study human CO2 emissions—and which optical technologies will be used in future space missions.
