* Those eligible for concessions include students, school pupils, Jenapass holders, people with severe disabilities, apprentices, participants in the Federal Voluntary Service and senior citizens. Where people with severe disabilities require the assistance of a carer, admission for that carer is free of charge.
** Children and school pupils up to and including the age of 16 receive free admission upon purchase of a free ticket (in the form of an admission wristband). The admission wristband must still be obtained in advance, either through advance sales or at the box office, before access to the events can be granted. This free ticket also serves as a travel pass.
Important note: Anyone holding an online ticket (print@home ticket / mobile ticket) must exchange this for an admission wristband before entering the events. This can be done from 18 November at the Jena Tourist Information Centre and, on the evening of the event, at the designated box offices. Please note: There may be longer queues in the evenings.

Box offices
Make sure you get your tickets in good time! Tickets in the form of admission wristbands can also be purchased on the evening of the Long Night of Science in Jena. The Jena Tourist Information Centre will be open specially until 10.00 pm for this purpose. Evening box office prices apply from 4.00 pm.
In 2024, additional evening ticket offices were available from 18:00 to 22:00 at the following locations:
- Jena University Hospital, Am Klinikum 1 (main entrance)
- Jenoptik (Technology Centre), Göschwitzer Str. 25
- Beutenberg Campus, Abbe Centre Jena, Hans-Knöll-Straße 1
- Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena, Carl-Zeiß-Promenade 2 (Building 2, main entrance)
- Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Ernst-Abbe-Platz/Carl-Zeiß-Straße 3
Through the night by tram and bus
Travel comfortably through the night by tram and bus
With the LNDW ticket, you and your children can travel free of charge on all buses, trams and local trains within Jena (VMT fare zone 30) on the day of the event until 3.00 am the following day .
Timetable for Line 10
To ensure you can reach your event highlights at “near the speed of light”, the regular timetable for Line 10 will be supplemented with additional services during the Long Night of Science in Jena between 6.00 pm and midnight.

An additional bus service will operate between Burgaupark – Göschwitzer Straße – Rudolstädter Straße – Burgaupark as a circular route every 20 minutes (connecting with Line 10 services), serving the following stops: Burgaupark (bus and tram interchange) – Alte Burgauer Brücke – Ernst-Ruska-Ring – Jenoptik temporary stop – Konrad-Zuse-Straße – Göschwitz – Jena21 – Winzergasse – Winzerla (tram interchange) – Freizeitbad – Burgaupark

Additional services will also be provided on the tracks. Tram line 5 will also be significantly reinforced for the Long Night of Science.

MeinJena app
The MeinJena app offers a wide range of information on local topics in Jena. Simple, quick and up to date:

By attending the Long Night of Science in Jena, visitors agree, without entitlement to any remuneration, to allow photographs of themselves to be taken, reproduced and transmitted during the event, and to be used for the organiser’s own purposes. Specifically, this means: for PR, editorial and advertising purposes in publications, print media, on posters and in advertisements, as well as on the internet and Web 2.0/social media. This provision also applies to under-age attendees who attend the event accompanied by their legal guardians or persons with parental responsibility. This consent is granted without any time or geographical restrictions.
Press information
Those interested in covering the Long Night of Science 2026 in Jena can apply for accreditation here. The application period runs until 19 November 2026.
Press accreditation is available to Long Night of Science reporters from all media sectors (print and online media, TV and radio, and photography). By obtaining accreditation, you undertake to provide copies of your publications.
Accreditation is available to recognised journalists with a valid press card who can demonstrate a professional interest in the event and who meet the accreditation requirements. The organiser will decide on the limited allocation of accreditations to those without a press card.

Online tickets: These must first be exchanged for an admission wristband at the box office or at the Tourist Information Centre, and then you’re all set! Admission wristbands: These give guests access to all events and allow them to use public transport free of charge in fare zone 30/Jena.

- Are there food and drink options available at the events?
Yes! Food and drink will be available at a great many venues. In most cases, this is indicated on the website by a small ‘catering icon’.
- Can I bring my dog (or other pets) to the events?
No. We ask our guests to protect their animals and not to expose them to the stress and crowds associated with such a large-scale event. Animals are generally not permitted in the majority of venues. Should an assistance dog be absolutely essential, this must be enquired about or registered in advance.
- Is seating on a first-come, first-served basis at the opening ceremony?
Yes, a limited number of standing places are available. The opening ceremony will take place outdoors.
- Are all events suitable for children?
Most of our events are! However, a few are not recommended for our younger guests. The events are always marked on the website with a symbol indicating whether they are suitable for children.
- Are all venues accessible?
Unfortunately, no. Here too, you’ll find a symbol next to each event indicating whether a building is accessible or not.
