Greenhouse gas measurements on water, on land, and in the air

Carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases are steadily increasing in the atmosphere. At the same time, climate change is affecting ecosystems’ ability to absorb or release greenhouse gases. Research into these relationships and their impact on the climate requires a large amount of measurement data as a foundation. We show how ICOS contributes to our understanding through measurements on land, in water, and in the air, and what role our laboratory in Jena plays in this effort.
