All about vision – We’re looking out for your eyes!
We – the Department of Ophthalmology – keep a close eye on your eyes! After all, the eye is one of the human body’s most important sensory organs. It is through our eyes that we perceive colours, shapes and movement. At our information stand, we’ll be providing details on various conditions, our specialist consultation hours and the surgical procedures we carry out at the UKJ. The focus will be on the modern surgical technique known as lamellar corneal surgery (DMEK), which is used in corneal transplants. Have you always wanted to find out more about the structure of the cornea or the background to Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy? Then do pop by our stand – we’ll show you the diagnostic options using an endothelial cell microscope and anterior segment OCT.
Further information can be found on the Department of Ophthalmology’s website.
