How safe are toasters and laser pointers, and how is a real object turned into a 3D model? In the hands-on lab at ZEISS Quality Assurance, you’ll become a tester and experience measurement and testing technology up close.

Our hands-on lab is all about safety, technology, and exploring with curiosity. At three stations, you can measure, test, and be amazed all on your own under expert guidance.

Testing Electrical Safety

Test household appliances you’ve brought along—or our test items—for electrical safety according to current standards. You’ll help set up simple tests, such as measuring insulation resistance or protective conductors, and learn where hidden hazards can lurk in everyday life.

Laser Pointers in Focus

How powerful is your laser really? We’ll measure power and laser class, explain when a laser can become dangerous to the eyes, and why some pointers can even set paper on fire. Here, too, you can take measurements yourself and learn what it means to use laser technology responsibly.

Experience 3D Measurement Technology Live

From a real object to a digital 3D model: Bring an object with you and watch as a 3D scanner optically measures your item and transforms it into a detailed model. You’ll see how modern measurement technology captures shapes and the tiniest details and transfers real objects into the digital world.
