"How can the preservation of natural resources contribute to security policy? How does biodiversity increase society's resilience? Prof. Dr. Aletta Bonn answers these and other questions.

What role do climate change, biodiversity loss, and increasing global pollution play in the context of global crises and upheavals? They are major security risks and threaten people, societies, and the global community of nations.

In its partial report published in June 2026, the German Federal Government’s Scientific Advisory Council on Global Environmental Change (WBGU) therefore recommends incorporating these environmental dimensions into security strategies.

Advisory Board member and co-author of the report, Prof. Dr. Aletta Bonn, presents the key findings, provides concrete examples, and answers the following questions, among others:
How can the preservation of natural resources contribute to security policy?
How does biodiversity increase society’s resilience?

Afterward, we look forward to discussing these topics with you!
