Using only (many) matches, determine an approximation for the mathematical constant π.

In the mid-18th century, Georges-Louis Leclerc de Buffon described how, among other things, the value of pi (π) could be calculated by randomly throwing needles onto a grid of parallel lines.

Try it out at the booth using matches.

Let’s celebrate science!
