Have you ever tried laser welding yourself?
Laser beam welding is carried out both automatically on large-scale systems and manually: either by holding a laser gun in your hand, as in *Star Wars*, and guiding the laser beam across the component, Alternatively, you hold the component in your hand and guide it beneath a stationary laser beam to create a weld seam.
At our welding training centre, we train welders in various welding processes, including laser beam welding. During the Long Night of Science, you can try your hand at laser beam welding – completely safely, of course, and with no risk of injury! We’ll provide you with our equipment so you can produce the cleanest possible welds using the laser beam. Our welding instructors will be on hand to assist you.
You’ll then be able to take the welding samples you’ve produced home with you.
Our other welding activities:
How do you weld properly?

How does robotic welding work?
We’ll also show you how lasers work and how to build your own laser system:
Can you build a laser at home?
