Is it possible to build a laser at home?

At ifw Jena, you can find out about various laser systems and try them out for yourselves. Among other things, we’ll show you our ‘lunchbox laser’. You can safely look inside the laser system here and learn how a laser works. What makes it special is that this laser is built almost entirely from household items. We’ll show you how it’s done.

Once you know how to build lasers yourselves, you can try out our other laser activities for LNDW:

Have you ever tried welding with lasers yourself?
What can a laser cut through?
