Light shows at the nanoscale: hands-on light and laser experiments for explorers of all ages
Experience the fascinating world of optics and nano-optics in a fun and engaging way: under the theme ‘Light Games at the Nanoscale’, the NOA Collaborative Research Centre and the Meta-Active International Research Training Group invite you to an exciting and interactive event. This event offers unique insights into current research and a wide range of hands-on activities for explorers of all ages.
Laser Maze: An adventure for the senses
Navigate your way through our exciting laser maze! Try to guide the laser beam around obstacles to the target without touching them. This interactive experience is not only great fun, but also demonstrates how precisely light can be controlled and manipulated using different mirrors.
Discover molecules in virtual reality
Using VR headsets and the Nanome software, you can explore molecules as three-dimensional models: rotate, zoom in and view their structures from different perspectives – from small molecules to complex proteins. This brings the molecular world to life in three dimensions.
Science up close: insights into research
As well as the hands-on activities, you’ll have the opportunity to find out all about the research carried out by the NOA Collaborative Research Centre. Take the chance to speak directly to our scientists and gain fascinating insights into their work.
For children aged 6 and over, teenagers and adults, and anyone who enjoys experimenting with light
