Discover how light and innovative sensor technology help to detect tiny molecular traces – opening up exciting prospects for research and medical diagnostics.

Proteins and other biomolecules play an important role in our bodies and in the development of diseases. But how can they be reliably detected? Researchers in the Microscopy Department at the Leibniz-IPHT are developing innovative optical methods that can be used to investigate molecular processes. Using a multiplex sensor, you will learn how several different biomolecules can be detected simultaneously without the need for additional labelling agents – and how light opens up new possibilities for medical diagnostics.
