Music is full of math—and can even be measured! Behind every note, every chord, and every rhythm lies a fascinating world of numbers, vibrations, and mathematical structures. Together, we’ll embark on a journey through the mathematics of sound and discover how frequencies determine pitch, why octaves and harmonies are based on simple numerical ratios, and why different instruments sound completely different even when playing the same notes. In exciting experiments, we’ll measure and visualize the sounds of different instruments—and, of course, live music is a must.
Let’s celebrate science!
