In addition to guided tours and an exhibition, we also offer hands-on activities for all ages...

Together with our customers, we shape light from the ultraviolet to the infrared spectrum for a wide range of unique applications.

The precise attenuation of a color by a factor of 1:100 million in fluorescence analysis, laser communication over hundreds of kilometers, or the observation of galaxies 10 billion years old—all of these applications use light in various spectral ranges to gather information.  These applications are made possible by optical filters, known as “thin-film interference filters.” The controlled deposition of hundreds of individual layers—some thinner than one-thousandth of a human hair—enables the production of the required precision optics.

Guided tours through the production area for dielectric thin-film interference filters highlight the challenges and specialized solutions in the manufacturing process, while numerous interactive stations invite visitors to marvel and learn.
