How do bones, cartilage and muscles enable movement? Discover the musculoskeletal system: stain specimens, test your knowledge and learn about modern implants – fascinating for all age groups

Bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons and muscles make up the musculoskeletal system, which provides the body with stability and enables movement.
We offer hands-on activities on the theme of the musculoskeletal system for young and old alike: Histology – a riot of colour in the microcosm. What do bones, cartilage and tendons look like under the microscope? Find out for yourself! Wafer-thin sections are stained in vibrant colours – by you! You can also test your own knowledge of anatomy and bone health. In addition, we’ll be displaying implants used in modern surgery to stabilise fractures and as joint replacements.
