Developers at SmartDyeLivery GmbH explain how nanoparticles can be used to treat liver failure and cancer.

In cases of liver failure or cancer, an active substance needs to reach the affected tissue as quickly and efficiently as possible – without causing damage to other organs through side effects.

The Jena-based company SmartDyeLivery has developed tiny nanocarriers for this targeted drug delivery, which can transport active substances directly to a target cell and release them in precisely measured doses.

At the LNDW, the SmartDyeLivery developers from the InfectoGnostics Research Campus will demonstrate how the tiny nanoparticles work using a large, hands-on model and explain the technology’s potential medical applications.
