On November 20, 2026, the Jena Digital Innovation Hub (JEDI) will become a large-scale experimental lab. Imaginata is back on the road with its big “Experiment Box , ” supplemented by new stations focused on sustainability and ESD—Education for Sustainable Development. Witelo will also be bringing new experiments—which you can try out right away during the Long Night of Science. We’ll be supported by students from the Carl Zeiss Gymnasium and the JenaWirtschaft team.
Here’s what you can experience:
- Build a city for our Ozobots and find out how to control the little robots using color codes.
- With gears and levers, you can make small things big—and vice versa: Try it out for yourself with pantographs and a perpetual motion machine.
- Since Christmas is just around the corner, you can make mathematical Christmas cards with us.
- Of course, we’ll have microscopes on hand again—along with an exciting quiz to go with them.

witelo is the network ofscience and technologylearning centersin Jena. The association’s goal is to promote education in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology (STEM) through collaborations between schools, companies, and extracurricular learning centers. The association operates the websitewww.witelo.de, where around 70 network partners present their projects on science and technology education. It also runs the Jena Student Research Center and, in collaboration with network partners, offers extracurricular clubs and project days at schools throughout Thuringia.
