What’s really inside? – Everyday objects under the high-tech scanner

What do a rotten apple, a dissected banana and a human heart have in common? We can look inside them without cutting them open! During the Long Night of Science, we’ll be transforming our clinical computed tomography (CT) scanner into a scientific X-ray scanner for everyday objects.

Live inside the CT scanner, we’ll demonstrate how modern radiological imaging works. We’ll present the fascinating cross-sectional images and three-dimensional reconstructions on a large screen – in a clear, interactive way and with a good dose of humour. Our audience can join in the guessing game: what’s hidden inside? And what would the radiological diagnosis be?

In this playful way, we demonstrate the precision with which we examine the human body every day, detect diseases and save lives.
Our motto: Don’t cut it open – have a look inside!
