From water level to outflow – how do water gauges work?

Measuring principles are explained using a container. Visitors can carry out water level and velocity measurements themselves, thereby learning how a surface water gauge works and the significance of the relationship between water level and discharge – in a practical way, using an installation and explanatory panels.

This hands-on activity takes place at the Thuringian Flood Information Centre (HNZ) of the TLUBN.
