It becomes clear why certain stages of life can be particularly stressful, especially when periods of stress persist for a long time and exceed a person’s ability to cope. An important part of the presentation is therefore devoted to the question of which skills and strategies can protect people from mental illness. The central message is: No one is invulnerable—but we can learn to strengthen our mental health and prevent negative developments.
