Jenoptik supports municipalities and communities worldwide in improving traffic safety. The goal is “Vision Zero”—in other words, no one losing their life in traffic accidents. This is achieved through various types of systems, such as those for speed measurement. After all, speeding remains one of the leading causes of accidents and fatalities on roads. But other behavioral patterns or distractions can also quickly become dangerous, such asusing a cell phone while drivingor not wearing a seat belt.
At LNDW Jena, we’ll show you how we can detect and document these behavioral patterns in vehicles—thanks to Jenoptik technology that has already proven itself in other countries, such as Australia.
Noise is another underestimated hazard in road traffic, especially in urban areas, as it can have both short- and long-term health consequences. Vehicles with modified exhaust systems affect many people not only in terms of their personal perception. In addition to health problems, noise can also have negative effects on emissions and sustainability. To identify these cars on the road, we’ve developed a noise detection system that we’ll be presenting at the LNDW.
P.S.: To raise awareness about distracted and dangerous driving, we’re once again offering you the chance to get a fine-free speed camera photo atthe Ernst-Abbe Tower in downtown Jena during the LNDW —along with the hope that you’ll pay closer attention on the road and be considerate for the benefit of all road users.
