Cutting tires with a laser? Lighting design on cars using paint removal? No problem with our laser technology!
Current design trends in the automotive industry show that lighting design is playing an increasingly important role in the customization of vehicles—both inside and out. After all, lighting can help us experience greater safety, well-being, and communication on the road. Last but not least, lighting and lighting technologies are also helping car brands differentiate themselves from one another more effectively—and a technology from Jenoptik plays a special role in this.
A wide variety of components are fitted with light sources to illuminate the finest structures and geometries, logos, and lines. These intricate lighting designs are created by selectively removing the opaque coating from the plastic components that are illuminated. Instead of mechanical tools that wear out, a high-performance laser is used for this process.
It is precisely this advantage that can also be leveraged for the prototyping of car tires . Instead of hand-carving a prototype in about a week, our “JENscan® Tire” takes only a few hours to laser-cut the tire’s tread pattern.
At the LNDW, discover our versatile JENscan® laser technology through models—technology that makes the manufacturing and design of a vehicle more efficient, safer, and more attractive.
