It becomes clear why certain stages of life can be particularly stressful, especially when periods of stress persist for a long time and exceed one’s own coping abilities. An important part of the presentation is therefore devoted to the question of which skills and strategies can protect people from mental illness. The central message is: No one is invulnerable—but we can learn to strengthen our mental health and prevent negative developments.
